Sanofi demo in Paris

Friday, 19 March, 2010

From 3pm to 6.30pm, a demonstration took place in front of the head office of Sanofi Aventis, client of HLS.

Sanofi-Aventis, 174 Avenue de France 75013 PARIS

Huntington Life Sciences is the biggest testing lab in Europe where 500 animals are killed every day of the week to fulfil the requirements of their clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, beauty and agricultural industries who need to test their chemicals.

We were 10 activists demonstrating on this nice early spring day. Still with our banner “Cette entreprise gagne de l’argent sur la souffrance des animaux “ (This company makes money through the suffering of animals), once more we wanted to make them understand it is important to stop their cooperation with this infamous laboratory.

It should be added that in France, especially in Paris, Sanofi complains systematically to the police about our presence even though our demos are always legal and non-violent. Sanofi lobbies the
authorities to ban our demonstrations.

But as usual we had something important to say!! Megaphones and sirens were used constantly and on full volume! For us activists it is important to be on the street, on the frontline to speak in the name of the imprisoned, tortured and humiliated animals.

People passing by came up to us and asked us about why we were there. We explained to them that Sanofi knew perfectly well what was going on inside HLS, that they preferred to close their eyes and collaborate with this barbaric and fraudulent laboratory.

We will come back! We won’t stop paying visits to companies affiliated to HLS, and raising awareness about the lives of animals inside laboratories and about the other methods which already exist!

As we say with our megaphones: “We always have a choice and it’s never too late to change, nothing is impossible!” because “Silence only gives consent!”
